To attain certification, municipalities must demonstrate housing growth through permit approvals or by passing a Pro-Housing Resolution. Once certified, they gain priority consideration for funding, subject to annual recertification and data updates to maintain eligibility.
In the town of Poughkeepsie, the Town Board's narrow 4-3 vote in favor of passing their pro-housing resolution signifies a pivotal step towards potential acceptance into the Pro-Housing Community program.
