The City of Poughkeepsie Common Council has approved the creation of a Downtown Business Improvement District (BID), which now awaits final approval from the New York State Comptroller. Covering 240 downtown properties, the BID will focus on improving Main Street by boosting beautification, safety, and business development. Funded through a special property assessment, the BID will help attract tenants, fill vacant storefronts, and host events to draw more people downtown. Final state approval is expected within 60 days. More information is available at dtpk.org.
