Join Peach Hill Park's Annual 5K Fundraiser: Run for the Hill of It

Kick off Pride Month with a dash of community spirit at Peach Hill Park's much-anticipated annual 5K run/walk event! Get ready to run the scenic trails of Peach Hill Park, boasting breathtaking views from the highest point in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Whether you're a seasoned runner or prefer a leisurely stroll, all are welcome to participate regardless of age or fitness level. And the best part? Your registration fee goes directly towards supporting Peach Hill Park, ensuring its preservation and accessibility for generations to come.

Registration up to May 31st is $25, with race day registration available for $30. Plus, the first 75 registrants will receive a Peach Hill water bottle. 

Prizes await the top finishers and age group winners, with plenty of fun snacks to refuel afterward. The race kicks off at 9 am, with check-in beginning at 8 am sharp. Please note, for the safety and enjoyment of all participants, they kindly ask that bikes, dogs, and baby/jogging strollers remain at home.

But the 5K isn't just about breaking a sweat—it's about celebrating the remarkable journey of Peach Hill Park. Born from the dedication of concerned citizens in the late 1990s, Peach Hill Park has become a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, thanks to collaborative efforts with organizations like Scenic Hudson and the Town of Poughkeepsie.

In March 2004, Peach Hill was officially dedicated as a public parkland, ensuring its preservation for passive recreation without burdening taxpayers. This milestone was made possible by generous contributions from private donors, Dutchess County, and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.

Today, the Friends of Peach Hill continue to uphold their mission of stewardship, diligently maintaining and improving the park for all to enjoy. From laying out hiking trails to battling invasive species, their dedication ensures that Peach Hill's historical landscape remains a treasure for future generations.

So, lace up your sneakers, gather your friends and family, and join them for a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit at Peach Hill Park's Annual 5K Fundraiser.
