🏠️ Good Cause Eviction laws are designed to require landlords to provide a legitimate reason, such as nonpayment of rent or lease violations, to evict tenants. These laws may also regulate the size of rent increases.
Proponents of Good Cause Eviction laws argue that they help protect tenants from eviction without just cause and provide greater housing stability.
Critics of Good Cause Eviction laws argue that they could limit landlords' ability to manage their properties and might impact decisions regarding property investment and maintenance which could negatively impact the housing supply.
