Town of Poughkeepsie Launches Community Solar 🌎️
Eligibility: Any Central Hudson customer participating in SNAP, Medicaid, Section 8, Central Hudson Bill Discount Program, EAP, HEAP, or LIHEAP. Residents who qualify can save up to 20% on their electricity bills. Click here.
🏙️ City of Poughkeepsie Common Council Approves Rent Control
In a unanimous vote, the Poughkeepsie Common Council approved the Emergency Tenant Protection Act. This act applies to buildings constructed before 1974 with six or more units. It still needs to be signed by Mayor Flowers to become law. If enacted, the act would protect tenants from eviction, grant them the right to renew leases, and freeze rents until a Rent Guidelines Board is established to adjust rents annually.
