Getting a head start on your New Year's fitness goals? The Deborah Schwartz Winter Run is a flat, fast 5-mile race starting and ending at LaGrange Town Hall in Lagrangeville, kicking off at 10:00 AM on January 25, 2026.

Earlier this month, we asked readers whether they support exploring a public takeover of Central Hudson through a not-for-profit utility. 53% said yes, while a significant share of respondents said they were unsure. In a future issue, we’ll take a closer look at the bill itself to help better understand what the proposal would actually do.
